Ever felt nervous about a chiropractor working on your body? I’ve been there. But after speaking to Dr. Shaun Janse van Rensburg for two minutes, I felt at ease — and after he adjusted me for the first time, I felt AMAZING.
Dr. Shaun is a Chiropractic Physician with Southeast Orthopedic Specialists where we works with athletes & “non-athletes” (like me!). His emphasis is on proper biomechanics of the body for optimal performance and to reduce injury. Our body is made up of levers and pulleys that all work together in order for our body to move.
When Sammy & I visited Dr. Shaun for the first time, before he did any work on either of us, he evaluated our squat patterns. For me, he pointed out that the tightness in one hip was affecting the movement of my right knee when going into a squat formation. My knee had to compensate for the limited range of motion in the hip joint.
What was his first recommendation to me? Daily hip stretches! Improving my hip mobility would eliminate the compensatory movement in my knee — and reduce my chances of injury!
Visiting Dr. Shaun on a regular basis for adjustments, hypervolt treatment, and graston technique has reduced my pain significantly and improved my range of motion. Click here to learn more about the work Dr. Shaun does all across the Jacksonville-area.
